Some reflexions on Shift Happens.
When I first watched it I felt a sort of urge. The urge to jump into the future. I got the feeling that the world is changing far more quickly than human being's minds are. I've always seen changes in history sponsored by thinkers, social movements
I don't know if I feel like this because this is happening in my lifetime, and so I don't have all the elements I need to make a deep analysis or if the world is really changing and human beings are running behind.
Perhaps the difference between the present and the past is that any change is a global change now. One reason for this is surely global economy. Another one is instant communication. After the session tonight I watched some news on TV. I saw the people from the Gaza Strip emigrating to Egypt, escaping from the lack of water and electricity. People that are being used as human shields from one part and as hostages from the other. And I wonder what "future" means to them, what "change" means to them. Perhaps this is the same old world after all.(suddenly remember Ray Bradbury's "The highway")
Lots of other things in my mind, but its 2a.m I'm going to bed
